I recently finished a Holiday video project for Affy Tapple/Mrs. Prindable’s. Nice group to work with. But that’s not even the good part. After wrapping up the shoot, sure enough, they insisted I take home whatever taffy apple assortments/gift baskets I wanted! I knew Joanne was going to be super happy seeing me come home with these. She loves taffy apples. So I grabbed the Classic Gift Tower, and the Ultimate Basket. I managed to take some snapshots of these beauties before we munched on ‘em (see below). I’m not the biggest fan of sweets in general, but I must admit these gourmet taffy apples sure are tasty. We of course can’t (and shouldn’t!) finish them all (Joanne is all taffy’d out).. let’s see…who has been kind to us lately that we can share some with.. hmm…

It’s been a busy week for Samantha. 2 months bday party for her on Saturday, shots on Tuesday and a visit to my office on Wednesday. I don’t know if it’s all the commotion or what, but Samantha has been extremely fussy whenever its time for her to sleep. She just wouldn’t go to sleep. She’s fine when she is awake but once we tried to put her to sleep that is when she gets really fussy. I don’t know what to do with her at this point. Brian has been working onsite all this week, so I am all by myself with her. Having this child made me realize that I really don’t have as much patience as I thought I have. So what then…how am I surviving this??? I’ve been wearing her around the house all day long. As comfortable as my carrier is there’s still lots of pressure on my back. Carrying her allows me to do only a few things such as bathroom, computer, tv, read…but I can not cook or eat or clean. This week being alone gave me another realization. Maybe I am not the stay at home type of mom that I always wanted to be. Maybe I am better off working. In any case, this week of experience kicked my ass and I have updated my resume and porfolio and it is ready to be send off. We need a nanny now. *sigh*

Happy Election Day
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
What a historic day. We’re excited about tonight…
We were early voters. And this was also cool because it was Samantha’s first voting experience, she came along and waited in line with us over 30 minutes. Sure she didn’t vote, but nonetheless, she can say she was there. Not to mention she was the main focus for all voters standing in line by us. She attracted a lot of oohs and ahhs… She was too cute sleeping in her carrier. She nearly broke down and screamed right as I got to my station and began to vote, go figure.. so I had to dance around a bit while I voted to keep her entertained.

Seaweed head

A nice afternoon lunch at our favorite sushi place, Sea Ranch in Evanston. This is what happens when you don’t cover your baby’s head while eating seaweed salad.

I saw a commercial from Starbucks on TV the other day advertising a free tall coffee on Election Day, Tuesday if you go in and say you voted. I’ll try and get one, despite some saying that this may be illegal for Starbucks to do.
Oh by the way, check out our new stroller. We finally bought one. A cheap snap-and-go for our existing car seat. Limited in use, but compact, super light and no nonsense.
Update: We got our free coffee! No questions asked.

Scariest House on the Block
Filed Under General | Leave a Comment
How creative this house a couple of doors down from us was for Halloween. A huge ghostly projection of Sarah Palin along with a McCain/Palin graveyard. Add some strobe lights and a scary sound machine and what do you get? The scariest house on the block (which is what the sign said in their driveway, ha).
